Converter & electric arc furnace
Where steel is made
Mag-carbon bricks line the converter and the EAF. INFINITY and ULTIMAX maintenance products keep the lining in service; BOF and EAF manipulators from INTOCAST equipment engineering do the work at the vessel.
The ladle lining is INTOCAST territory: mag-carbon, dolomite and AMC bricks, hybrid linings with self-flowing and thixotropic materials. Well filler keeps the slide gate free-opening, MAPEKO burners preheat the ladle before the next heat.
Tundish linings and the Endless Recycling System come from INTOCAST, the FOEHN® soft drying system from MAPEKO, isostatic refractories from EXUS. SAPOTECH machine vision watches the process.

Mould & continuous casting
Where the strand is born
SYNTHERM casting powders and granules form the slag film between the water-cooled copper mould and the steel, for slabs, billets, blooms, beam blanks and thin slabs. Granule and powder feeders dose them; ALSICAL produces the granulated fluxes, HAMAG supplies slag conditioners and insulation.
